In the United States we have a new Administration and no matter which side of the aisle you’re on there’s no doubt things have been a little cray. And while the political landscape continues to shift, our obsession with TikTok, Elon Musk and Executive Orders remains steadfast.

But, that’s besides the point.

The point is that many of us are juggling life, work, and that ever-elusive idea of balance. But what if “balance” is a myth, like unicorns or Wi-Fi that works perfectly everywhere?

Instead of chasing perfection, why not focus on living well.

My life is about creating memories, making sure that I’m putting myself first and doing whatever it takes to ensure my happiness. I’ve made it a point of doing, seeing and experiencing things that make me happy. I call it “Living a Luxe Life”. Things like art, travel, food, fashion, white glove service, and spending quality time with the people I love are all part of me living well.

Living a luxe life isn’t just about yachting on the Amalfi Coast or adding gold dust to your chocolate truffles. It’s about savoring the little luxuries: fresh flowers in the kitchen, your favorite playlist on repeat, or sipping your favorite cocktail while watching the sunset from Governors Island, a short ferry ride away from NYC (pictured below).

Luxury is personal. For me, it’s experiences over excess, mindfulness over materialism, and finding joy in the everyday.

So go ahead, light that Diptyque candle, wear that good perfume on a Tuesday, and remember — living a luxe life is less about what you have and more about how you feel.
